Dental Implants

Dental implants are a long-term solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring the look, function, and feel of a natural smile. Designed to closely resemble natural teeth, implants provide a stable foundation for a custom-made crown, bridge, or implant-supported restoration.

Whether you are missing one tooth, several teeth, or need a more comprehensive tooth-replacement solution, dental implants can help you smile, speak, and eat with confidence.

WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

A dental implant is a small post, typically made from titanium, that is surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. As the area heals, the implant can integrate with the surrounding bone through a process called osseointegration.

Once the implant has healed and is stable, an abutment and custom dental crown or other restoration are placed to complete the replacement tooth.

The Three Main Components

1. Dental Implant
The implant replaces the root of the missing tooth and provides a stable foundation within the jawbone.

2. Abutment
The abutment connects the implant to the final dental restoration.

3. Dental Crown
The crown is custom-designed to match the appearance, shape, and function of your natural teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  (972) 231-3188 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Implant placement is performed with local anesthesia to keep you comfortable during the procedure. Some soreness, swelling, or tenderness can be expected afterward and typically improves as the area heals. Your dentist will provide specific aftercare instructions to support a comfortable recovery.

Treatment time varies depending on your individual needs. The implant must heal and integrate with the jawbone before the final restoration is placed. Some patients may require additional procedures, such as bone grafting, which can extend the overall treatment timeline.

With proper oral hygiene, regular dental visits, and appropriate care, dental implants can provide a long-lasting solution for missing teeth. The crown or other restoration may eventually need to be repaired or replaced due to normal wear, even when the implant itself remains healthy.

WHY CHOOSE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants can offer both functional and cosmetic benefits:

  • Replace missing teeth with a stable, natural-looking restoration
  • Improve chewing and speaking ability
  • Help restore your smile and confidence
  • Provide a fixed alternative to removable dentures
  • Do not require reshaping neighboring healthy teeth in the way some bridges do
  • Help maintain the structure of the jawbone by replacing the tooth root
  • Can be used to replace one tooth, several teeth, or support larger restorations

Dental implants are designed to be a long-term tooth-replacement solution when properly planned and maintained.

WHO MAY BENEFIT FROM DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants may be an option for adults who have lost teeth because of:

  • Tooth decay
  • Gum disease
  • Trauma or injury
  • Fractured or severely damaged teeth
  • Failed previous dental treatment
  • Congenitally missing teeth
